MLC Super appoints two new general managers

MLC Super announced the establishment of two senior positions to oversee its transformation agenda and its employer superannuation division, naming Lisa Croudace and Nerique Paterson as the new general managers.
Croudace started at the company on 14 September as general manager, portfolio delivery. Paterson is scheduled to arrive from Australian Retirement Trust in January 2027 to serve as general manager, employer superannuation. The hires occur as MLC Super embarks on a major change initiative while aiming to grow its share of the employer segment.
In her new capacity, Paterson will direct the fund’s strategies for employer acquisition and retention, manage institutional alliances, supervise distribution networks, and shape the employer value proposition for both large corporations and small-to-medium enterprises. Over the last eight years she has been with Australian Retirement Trust, formerly Sunsuper, most recently holding the title of general manager, commercial growth. Her track record includes expanding the organisation through corporate, institutional, SME and payroll-related channels. Prior to her tenure at Sunsuper, Paterson worked as a senior consultant at Rice Warner.
MLC Super chief executive Dave Woodall said her background would bolster the fund’s ambitions in the employer arena. “Nerique joins us with deep experience in employer superannuation, superannuation mergers and transitions, client retention, corporate growth and strategic partnerships,” Woodall said. “She has built her career helping superannuation funds grow through strong employer relationships and innovative growth initiatives, and will play an important role in strengthening our position in the employer market.”
Paterson explained that the chance to influence the next stage of the fund’s expansion attracted her to the role. “The employer super market is evolving rapidly and there is a real opportunity to help more Australians engage with and get value from their superannuation,” she said. “I’m looking forward to working with employers, partners and colleagues across the business to strengthen MLC Super’s employer value proposition in the market and build on the strong foundations already in place.”

Croudace’s remit involves coordinating and delivering the change portfolio across MLC Super, emphasizing governance, prioritisation and outcome-focused execution. She brings more than twenty years of experience in superannuation, wealth management and large-scale enterprise transformation, including senior leadership roles at Mercer Australia. Her career also features heading significant transformation projects at BT Financial Group, such as five successor-fund migrations and the integration of BT Super into Mercer Super.
“Lisa brings a proven track record in leading complex transformation in highly regulated environments, and her experience in transformation delivery, governance and strategic execution will help MLC Super maintain momentum across our delivery agenda and turn our priorities into meaningful outcomes for our members,” Woodall said.
Croudace said her focus will be on turning the fund’s strategic aims into concrete results. “My role is to help bring that vision to life through disciplined delivery, ensuring we focus on the initiatives that will have the greatest impact,” she said.
The two appointments join an existing senior team that includes Amalie White, general manager, operations and partnerships; Craig Weber, head of education and advice; Jason Marler, general manager, master trust product; and Lachlan East, general manager, risk.
