Annual estimated investment fees are 0.08 per cent.

In response to adviser requests for more tailored equity market exposure for clients, Brighter Super has introduced indexed Australian and international share options to its investment lineup.

Since 1 October, members with accumulation, pension, or transition to retirement pension accounts have access to Indexed International Shares and Indexed Australian Shares options, offering passive investment strategies.

Annual estimated investment fees and costs for both options are 0.08 per cent, with no transaction costs, though additional charges may apply based on individual account details and circumstances.

According to Brighter Super’s chief member officer, Lisa Kay, these additions address adviser feedback seeking more indexed investment options, providing additional tools to pair with existing choices.

Kay explained that advisers expressed a need for greater flexibility in customizing international and Australian share exposure within client accounts, prompting Brighter Super to develop these solutions.

The new options resulted from full discussions with external financial adviser groups, market research by Investment Trends, investment modeling, and analysis of competitors and fees.

Members can pair these options with other investments on the fund’s menu to adjust their exposure to Australian and international share markets, while existing actively managed share options remain available.

The Indexed International Shares option tracks a weighted blend of the MSCI World Index in Australian dollars, with 20 per cent hedged and 80 per cent unhedged exposure, while the Indexed Australian Shares option aligns with the S&P/ASX 300 Accumulation Index.

As of 30 June 2026, Brighter Super, a Queensland-based member-owned fund, managed over $38 billion in funds for more than 340,000 members, acknowledging diverse preferences among members and advisers regarding investment management.

These additions offer members and advisers more ways to implement their investment strategies within Brighter Super, with indexed options designed to mirror market fluctuations. It’s important to note that lower fees do not imply lower risk or guarantee superior returns.

By broadening its investment menu, Brighter Super aims to better serve its members and advisers, offering a variety of options to align with different investment strategies and preferences.
